Typically used to describe a hydrometeor's orientation relative to some fixed frame of reference, such as the direction of propagation of a radar wave, the direction of polarization of that wave, or the true vertical. A hydrometeor's canting or orientation is fully described by a set three angles [called the Euler angles (see Wikipedia 2018)].
