Infrared Interferometer Spectrometer

(Abbreviated IRIS.) A Michelson interferometer that flew on ''Nimbus'' 3 and 4, launched in April 1969 and April 1970, respectively.

IRIS measured a broad spectrum from 5 to 20 μm, with a resolution of 150 km.
