dependent meteorological office

(Abbreviated DMO.) An office that provides meteorological service for international air navigation in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization specifications.

Its functions are to 1) prepare forecasts under the guidance of a main meteorological office; 2) supply meteorological information and briefings to aeronautical personnel; 3) supply meteorological information required by an associated supplementary meteorological office.
