jimsphere
A spherical balloon made of metallized polyester film.
It uses a valve to produce a fixed overpressure during ascent. The balloon contains surface protuberances to maintain turbulent flow throughout the ascent. It is tracked by a precision radar to obtain accurate wind profile data.
