## tangent linear equation

An equation of the form

**x**_{1}=*L***x**_{0}, in which*L*is a linearization about the time-varying forecast trajectory of a nonlinear model (), and**x**_{0}and**x**_{1}are first-order perturbations of nonlinear vector .
