winter monsoon

A monsoon resulting from the circulation induced by temperature contrasts between a cold continent and a warm ocean as occurs during the winter season.

An important example of this is the East Asian winter monsoon, which is the reversal of the East Asian summer monsoon.

A division of the year according to some regularly recurrent phenomena, usually astronomical or climatic.
